Image of library bookshelves and the words "Social Work Principles in Libraries, Friday October 13th at 1:00 pm CT"Join us on Friday, October 13th at 1:00 pm CT for the next WiLSWorld Shorts: Social Work Concepts in Libraries. This edition welcomes speakers Ashley Cedeño, Library Social Worker at the Racine Public Library; Debbie Minsky-Kelly, Field Director and Clinical Assistant Professor at the Carthage College School of Social Work; and Libby Richter, Community Resource Specialist at L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.

This workshop will allow participants to learn what social work in and with the library looks like, why some libraries consider it, as well as the benefits and challenges. Participants will also learn how to apply social work concepts no matter their budgetary constraints. Common models of library/social work partnerships will be discussed. Panelists will also discuss their social work programs and models to demonstrate how these programs are tailored to unique community needs.

WiLS is dedicated to providing collaborative and community experiences that are free from all forms of harassment and inclusive of all people. Please, be kind.
See our Code of Conduct for details.
