WiLS Value Proposition
At WiLS, we understand that employment is a two-way street. When you commit to giving WiLS all the time and effort that make up your work week, WiLS compensates not just in material offerings like fair pay and ample vacation time, but also by striving to give employees opportunities to grow, as well as a sense of connectedness, purpose, and agency in their work.
Compensation and Flexibility
- We offer competitive pay and benefits with home office stipends that include monthly phone and internet as well as funds for periodic office improvements.
- WiLS offers employees flexibility in setting their work schedule and location. We are fully remote and while most of our work takes place during our “open hours” of 8am to 5pm, employees are able to work outside those hours when needed to accommodate their schedules.
- WiLS is a team that draws on the strengths of each member as a project requires, so there is flexibility in staff member duties according to those strengths and aspirations.
- Full-time employment is not tied entirely to hours on the clock but to completion of work within a 35-45/week hour range.
Organizational Perks
- We are expertly advised by an engaged Board, whose members represent our community.
- We are a small organization with a relatively flat hierarchy that allows for individual staff members to make strong and meaningful contributions, including pitching new services or new ways of doing existing services.
- All staff have access to one-on-one and group support via WiLS’ Staff Development program.
- Staff are encouraged to pursue professional development opportunities as identified by the employee and paid for by WiLS.
- We encourage staff members to explore their interests and give back to our members and/or their own communities. Each staff member is allotted 2% of work time to spend on pro bono or volunteer projects.
Staff Culture
- Colleagues are respectful, compassionate, welcoming, and unwavering in their belief that a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment benefits everyone.
- Our staff members want to be the best we can be at our jobs, and we are always looking for ways to do better.
- We carry out our work with members and with one another with humor and gratitude.
- Our staff feel valued because of frequent “thank yous” and kudos from members and colleagues.
- We care about our colleagues in both their work roles but also in their home lives.
- WiLS staff are genuinely committed to our mission and organizational values as well as our internal values of providing high-quality and continuously-improving service, mindfulness, being honest and supportive, and ownership of our work.
