The WiLS Ideas to Action Fund application period is open! Through this fund, WiLS provides grants of up to $5,000 so libraries and cultural organizations can bring their project ideas to life. We seek innovative or collaborative proposals from WiLS members of all types in order to support the good work happening in all corners of our community.
Strong proposals encourage partnerships and collaborations among WiLS members and with community partners, support innovative and exploratory new work, and seed the development of processes, methods, or resources that can be used by other WiLS members.
The fund has been used to build Compassion Kits in Burlington, support UW-Eau Claire McIntyre Library’s Repair Fair, teach machine and hand sewing skills in Rhinelander, digitize interviews with Tribal Elders of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community, and much more.
We’ve recently added more detailed application guidance on the Ideas to Action Fund website. In addition, we’ll be holding a virtual Q&A session on Thursday, April 23rd, at 1:00 pm CT. Register to attend and learn more about the qualities of a strong proposal and have the opportunity to ask general and specific questions about the application process.
While we aren’t able to fund every proposal, we are excited to be inspired by your ambition and ingenuity. Submit your proposal by Friday, June 5th!
Not sure about WiLS membership? It’s free and comes with all perks and no strings! Wondering if your project idea is a good fit? Read about the projects we’ve funded since 2018.
