WiLSWorld Shorts: Using Findhelp to Connect People in Need and the Programs That Serve Them

December 7, 2022 WiLS staff

This event was held on Friday, January 13th, 2023, at 1:00 pm CT. You can watch the recording on our YouTube channel or view the slides.

Join us for the next WiLSWorld Shorts on Friday, January 13th, at 1:00 pm CT. Libraries of all types are invited to attend to learn more about findhelp, a free portal that helps connect people to the support they need, including financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced-cost help.

Findhelp’s mission to “connect all people in need and the programs that serve them – with dignity and ease” is right at home with library missions to serve the information needs of their community, whether that’s patrons, students, clients, or families. Because of that, WiLS is partnering with findhelp to raise awareness of this service that could be so valuable to so many of our members. This free, vetted, and constantly-updated tool can help your library staff connect people to food, utility and housing assistance, transportation, legal help, employment support, counseling, and more.

Findhelp has provided a suite of materials to make it easier for you to use and point patrons to findhelp’s resources:

WiLS is dedicated to providing collaborative and community experiences that are free from all forms of harassment and inclusive of all people. Please, be kind.
